Baby Boomers are turning fifty and their fight against aging has prompted an enormous interest in reversing or at least slowing the aging process. Boomers and younger generations are united in their desire to remain young. They exercise, eat healthy food, take vitamins and supplements, and wear the latest fashions in order to hang on to youth.

The question is why do some appear youthful while others begin to show the signs of aging in their twenties? Genetics can determine whether a person grays or loses their hair prematurely. Most people believe that such genetics cannot be reversed.

We begin to age from the time we are born. Our bodies are designed to live productively well past age one hundred, so this should not be an issue. Living longer does not necessarily mean better aging. Hypertension, congestive heart disease, arterial sclerosis, stroke, dementia, arthritis, diabetes, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, c, osteoporosis, menopause, graying, hair loss, wrinkles, fatigue, weakness, muscle atrophy, vision problems, loss of appetite - we do not have to accept these conditions as normal.

While a youthful attitude is helpful, no one needs to accept a decline in vitality. Once we accept that age is only a number, there is much we can do to retain, and even regain our youth.

Research shows that rural populations live longer chronologically and that a vegan diet excluding dairy products, refined carbohydrates, simple sugars, artificial preservatives, color and flavor enhancers, foods treated with pesticides and herbicides, carbonated beverages, meat, chicken, shellfish, caffeine and most salt contribute to a longer, more youthful life.

Age reversal requires dedication and commitment. Take a look at your body. Make notes in a journal describing what you see. Make a list of your goals and begin to make changes in your life. Lifestyle changes are difficult to make, but once you set your mind to achieving your goals, taking on this challenge should be motivating. Make vivid descriptions and mark your progress.
